A Two-day Off
I am on a two-day vacation leave today. I decided to consume the paid leave dates, otherwise, they are just going to be forfeited. Yesterday, I just bum around the house searching for some online good finds like term life insurance. By the way, I also bought a DVD drama series of my newest crush, Lee Min-Ho or more popularly known as Goo Jun Pyo of Boys Over Flowers. Today, I am gonna pay the party caterer 50% of the total cost and I will also storm Divilandia for Terrence's birthday loot items. For sure, today is going to be a busy day for me. Under Renovation (again!)
My in-laws house is going under renovation for the nth time. It was only 10 months ago when they renovated all the rooms upstairs and converted the simple stair to a spiral stair. Now, they are going to renovate the bathrooms and kitchen. Last month, we went to a home depot somewhere in The Fort to look for faucets, more specifically Moen faucets. Unfortunately, we didn't find one. We'll try the Ortigas Home Depot this month though so that renovation will be finally complete. Labels: home improvements

On Losing Weight
Unfortunately, the plan of enrolling myself in a gym last Friday didn’t materialize as 3 of my office colleagues went on a vacation time off. As much as possible, I want to lose weight the natural way before resorting to any kinds of fat burners. I am really determined to shed the extra pounds I have gained before baby marks his first birthday on September. I promise to blog about my progress of losing weight. I will even take pictures as proofs so watch out for updates :) Labels: health and living

On Going To Gym
I have mentioned in my other blogs that James and I are going to enroll ourselvest in a gym class by the end of the month. I think I'll be needing and MP3 player as I get my ways around the thread mill. Perhaps, it's now time for me to replace the old and reliable iPod Nano that I had some 5 years ago. It has already served its purpose. Now that it's about to retire, I'm on the look on different ipods. I want the best model out of my very modest budget. :) Labels: fitness, gadget

Binge-ing!
Blame it to the PMS (post menstrual syndrome) that I've been bingeing on Oreo and Chips Ahoy Cookies. I badly need myself to get enrolled to a gym. I think having one of the best fat burners will also help me lose weight. I am not going to be a hypocrite. I know I am getting fat and I know I need some "extra" help. Though I am open for some auxilliary, I don't think I can go under the knife. The idea of me going to an operating room scares the hell out of me. Really. Labels: health and beauty

Drooling Over Ikea
One of my favorite sites is IKEA. I know, we don't have a house yet so scouting for house furnitures will make me look like a fool. But who cares? As early as now, I'm also setting myself on what type of house furnitures like audio racks, we're gonna have in our home. I don't want the traditional house fixtures. I mean withh all the nitty gritty details. I want something minimalist-zen type. I was contemporary. Yeah. Most probably our house will be filled with zen-contemporary type of furnitures. I am just crossing my fingers that we'll be able to build our dream home in 7 years. Labels: home fixtures

Oatmeal Cookies, anyone?
I was supposed to do some baking last week and I realized that our overn is not working. Bummer! I was really excited over making chocolate chip cookies and cream filled cupcakes but as I have said, all the excitement was ruined by that 'effing oven. The other day, a co-worker offered me some oatmeal cookies and this made me think that I should be doing oatmeal cookies instead. It's more healthy and I am sure, it is ephedra free so it's safe and won't cause any harm to the body. Add to that that oatmeal are proven to help absorb those fats in our body. Maybe next next week, I will be able to bake some oatmeal cookies! :) Labels: health and living

Caught in the Act
I recently purchased a decent DSLR. My main purpose is to shoot Terrence's portraits. I am really excited about it. We still have a camcorder but I am thinking whether I should get one of those camcorders that have HD and widescreen features. At this point though, I think that shopping for one is an unnecessary expense so it can take the backseat. Perhpas, the money in my Paypal account (and I am still saving btw) will be used in purchasing the Nikon 80-200mm VR. I am going to attend a photography workshop this August in Intramuros and I am hoping I can learn the most out of it. Labels: shopping

He is coming home
Initially, hubby wanted to come home just in time for baby's first birthday celebration but decided to come home in December instead since we got more celebration in December. Well, actually he is going home 3rd week of November so that he can celebrate his mom's birthday on November 23rd. too bad though that he won't be in L.A. for the Black Friday sale. Going back to the baby's party, what we are going to do though is to just set up a lap top in the venue and log in over YM so he can still what is happening during the party. I have a wireless broadbrand from Smartbro that I seldom use anyway so this idea will definitely serve the purpose of having wi-fi. I am pretty excited about it. :)Labels: celebrations, sale

Week End at Serendra
We spent last week's Saturday at Serendra. It was my in-laws 30th wedding anniversary. I treated them to a dinner to Brazil Brazil and I can tell that they also had a good time. Too bad though that I was not able to take lots of pictures because the digicam I brought didn't have any a memory card in it. I left it in the SD slot of my lap top. When I get my DSL in June, I will finally buy some memory cards. Labels: food trip, week end stories

Oatmeal?
My good co-workers, Sheryl and I talked about reducing weight last night. I was actually eating Quaker Oats when she asked my I’m eating such as she knows that I am more fond of junk food for lunch. I told her that I am trying to lose weight because I want to look and feel good during my sweet pea’s first birthday on September. We have talked about top rated diet pills and she introduced me to reductil. This is my first time to hear such wonder drug and I am still on my research mode about this weight reducing pills. I Don't Understand
... why some moms would splurge money into some luxuries and would make tipid of their childrean. I know a mom who claims tobe a fashionista with all the shoes and designer bags that would cost her a minimum of 35k but would even spend more than 20k for his child's 1st birdday. Imagine that! Another mom claims that she is earning this amount of monthly salary but wouldn't spulrge some meager money on his child's feeing bottles. Yay! I am not sure if they are saying thsoe things (owning designer bags or having high salary) to boost their own morale. If they really want to look good and feel good about themselves, they sould enroll in a gym or worst ase scenario, get a weight loss supplement. Labels: health and beauty, mommy talks, money

Senti
It’s 12:35 am. I’m just sneaking out from work. It’s not that toxic but somehow I just need a break. Maybe it’s the hormones. I am not sure. While I’m listening to some MP3s, I just feel senti again. May is just around the corner. Baby’s first birthday is fast approaching. Soon, we’ll be welcoming December. Somehow, I just feel like December is forever. It makes me think that I can’t wait for that long. When I got married, I never expected that I’ll be building a family by my self. That I’ll be taking care of my baby- on my own. Hey don’t get me wrong. I know that hubby is also sacrificing a lot. Working abroad is not a joke. It takes a lot of patience. But hey, I am a woman. And I am entitled to feel this way. The only consolation that I have right now is knowing the fact that we can start our business and maybe, build our dream house 5 years from now. With that, I think I should start thinking of where to buy a receipt printer. Labels: all about family, emotion

Securing His Future
It was my mother in-law who persuaded me to get some sort of a long-term savings account for Terrence. No, it’s not a time deposit kind of savings. It’s actually a form of savings where we would pay a premium of P60k annually for 5 years. The savings will mature in 15 years (after the 5th year of payment). We will get the calculated face value plus interest plus dividend. It was actually a good investment. It’s not as liquid as a savings or a time deposit account. God forbids but just in case something will happen to me, I know that Terrence’s future is already secured. As the payer, I am also entitled to a life insurance.

After receiving the policy and proof of payment, I have thought of looking for mortgage protection life insurance. Who knows, I might need it in the future. Labels: investment, security
